In 1978 the fountain was inaugurated by the then mayor Friedrich Wohlfarth. The Ulrichsbrunnen is dedicated to Saint Ulrich, the patron saint of the diocese of Augsburg. According to legend, he quenched a spring either through prayer or with the help of his crosier to quench his thirst when he stopped here on his journey. Ulrichsbrunnen should not dry up even in the hottest summers.
