This church in Bologna - the "Chiesa del SANTISSIMO SALVATORE" - was not dedicated to one of the many people we venerate as blessed or saints and ask for their heavenly intercession with God; it was dedicated to the incarnate Son of God, Jesus Christ, the Redeemer and Savior. In Italian, people do not usually just use "San Salvatore", as is common for saints, but instead use the linguistic intensification "Most Holy Redeemer" / "Santissimo Salvatore".
