Fall of the century in Nagano
"All the men in the community wanted to have Hermann depicted in his famous 'flying pose' during the fall of the century in Nagano," says local leader Thomas Oberreiter. "But the women vehemently opposed it. Something negative and dramatic should not be glorified, according to their opinion. In the end, the men agreed with them and Hermann was immortalized when he scored."
