The Franzigmark is a deserted area (abandoned settlement) between Alaune and Morl.
In first mentions it was a Slavic settlement in the 7th and 8th centuries.
The devastation of the settlement probably took place as early as the 14th century.
The name Franzig comes from the Slavic Wrana and means something like crow's nest or crow's corner.
