    Hiking

Everything great. Niagara is very thoughtfully laid out and organized at the falls. I liked it very much.

At this point, due to geological features, the river turns almost 90° to the right. This creates the well-known whirlpools.

    Hiking

Whirlpool State Park on the Niagara River, here you can see this force of nature very well, you also have a beautiful view of Canada and the Aero Car from 1916 located there.

The Devil's Hole State Park – View of the Niagara River loop from Niagara Glen Nature Reserve offers a captivating, easy hike through diverse landscapes. You'll wander through the pristine Carolinian Forest, past ancient rock formations and glacial boulders, before being treated to panoramic views of the powerful Niagara River and its churning rapids. Keep an eye out for the unique semicircular Devil's Hole geological formation, a true highlight of this 2.9-mile (4.6 km) route.

This easy trail, with only 165 feet (50 metres) of elevation gain, takes about 1 hour and 14 minutes to complete, making it a perfect choice for a leisurely outing. Parking is available at the Niagara Glen Nature Centre, which also offers guided tours in warmer months. Always wear proper footwear for the rocky sections and be aware that entering the Niagara River is extremely dangerous due to strong currents.

This area is not just beautiful; it's also historically significant, having been an important portage route for Native Americans. The Niagara Glen Nature Reserve protects one of Southern Ontario's best-preserved Carolinian forests, home to unique flora and fauna. It's a fantastic way to experience the dramatic Niagara River Gorge without committing to the more strenuous sections of the broader trail system.
