Sominy is a picturesque town, situated between two lakes, 20 km south of Bytów. The name of Lake Somińskie already appears in documents from 1313, the settlement itself was established in the 16th century. Evangelical people lived here, constituting a Protestant enclave among the surrounding Catholic villages. Until 1945, Sominy was a German border village. After the war, the Germans were replaced by the Kashubians.

On the other side of the road there is a picnic point and a lake. Everything is so compact, intimate, well-coexisting with each other. Next, there is a nice path by the lake, the atmospheric open-air museum Chata Owczarza and then a good fish restaurant.

Sominy – a Kashubian village in Poland, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Bytów County, in the Studzienice Commune, in the Bytów Lakeland, on the northern shore of Lake Somińskie on the outskirts of the Zaborski Landscape Park. The village is the seat of the Sominy commune, which also includes Sominki and Koźlice.
