The Sudhaus company was founded in 1844 by Eduard Aurand and Eduard Sudhaus as "Aurand & Sudhaus". They produced spurs, stirrups, double bridles, snaffles and carriage fittings and quickly developed into a European market leader. This factory building was erected at the end of 1890 according to the plans of the architect Otto Leppin.
