    You can learn through multiple panels, the whole history of Sand Creek. How in particular Captain Silas Soule in 1864 refused to obey the orders of his superior. Due to his courage and determination, he was able to save innocent women, men and children from this massacre. He would later pay for it with his life, shot to death on a Denver street.

    The place is agreeable due to the many beautiful poplars that provide shade.
