    Hiking

Just as the name indicates, a beautiful but flat beach that divides the Salinas de San Pedro from the Mediterranean Sea. Like the other beaches in this sector, they do not have much shelter from the wind and on those windy days it can be uncomfortable, so I recommend going on a calm day.

    Hiking

Wide sandy beach usually very quiet, but when we walked along there was a lot of seaweed washed up.

    Hiking

Playa de la Llana is a nice beach with shallow water for toddlers to run around freely. Nice sandy beach and of course in certain periods of the year with mountains of seaweed. And no facilities such as toilets etc. Recommended if you are looking for a quieter less crowded beach.

    Encañizadas Trail

El Sendero de las Encañizadas, in San Pedro del Pinatar, offers a unique coastal hiking experience, perfect for a tranquil day in nature. Along its twelve kilometers and four hundred meters, with an elevation gain of just thirteen meters, you'll traverse the region's salt flats and sandy areas, enjoying views of both the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. The route, which takes approximately three hours and seven minutes to complete, is ideal for birdwatching, with flamingos and other species inhabiting the salt ponds, and leads you to Playa La Llana.

To plan your visit, keep in mind that the trail is mostly flat, but with sandy sections, so comfortable footwear is essential. It's advisable to avoid the hottest hours in summer and carry sufficient water, as there are no resupply points. Parking is available near the trailhead, and it's an excellent option to visit at any time of year, although spring and autumn offer more pleasant temperatures for walking.

What truly sets this trail apart is the combination of its rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. In addition to abundant wildlife, especially birds, you'll get a close look at the traditional "Encañizadas," an artisanal fishing system with centuries of history that still operates in the area. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with local nature and culture, making this route one of the most outstanding in the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar.
