The Torre (after Portuguese torre 'tower') is at 1993 m the highest mountain on the Portuguese mainland and after the Ponta do Pico in the Azores the second highest mountain in Portugal. The mountain, which is more of a knoll in a hilly landscape than a distinct peak, is in the Serra da Estrela. A paved road leads to the highest point, and a roundabout is built around the summit cross. On the north slope of the hill is Portugal's only ski resort.

The Torre is the highest point of Continental Portugal, at 1,993 meters above sea level. It is located in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park and serves as the dividing line between the municipalities of Seia, Manteigas, and Covilhã. To reach the round 2,000 meters, King D. João VI had a stone monument built at the top of the plateau in the early 19th century.👍🥾
