Hike the easy Sentiero del Pellegrino, a coastal path stretching 2.8 miles (4.5 km) between Noli and Varigotti. You will gain 849 feet (259 metres) in elevation over approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes, enjoying views over the clear blue sea. The trail winds above the coastline, passing through olive groves and wild Mediterranean plants, with sweeping vistas towards Punta Crena.
For your visit, you can easily access the trail from either Noli or Varigotti. Parking is available near the Via Aurelia in both villages. If you prefer public transport, a regular bus service runs every 30 minutes, connecting the start and end points, making it simple to plan your journey. Consider starting your hike in the morning to enjoy cooler temperatures and the best light over the Ligurian coast.
This historic route, known as the Pilgrim's Path, is named for the three ancient churches you will encounter along the way, including the weathered Chiesa Storica. The path also features the colorful Mausoleo dell'Australiano, adding an unexpected artistic touch to the journey. You will also pass the hermitage of Captain d'Albertis, a unique building from the early 1900s.
