The Palace of the Republic is one of the most important concert halls in Kazakhstan and a popular attraction in Almaty.
The building was constructed in 1970 and named in honor of Vladimir Lenin. It received its current name, "Palace of the Republic," in 1991 after the collapse of the USSR.
The Palace of the Republic underwent reconstruction in 2010-2011, which unfortunately resulted in the complete loss of the building's original architectural appearance.

The Palace of the Republic, built in 1970 (what associations!), is a venue for concerts and events (formerly also for party congresses).
Unfortunately, the facade has been heavily altered, so that the 70s concrete elements remain hidden behind dark glass.
