The beautiful neo-baroque building on Tonhallenstr. 4/ Corner Klausenwall is a feast for the eyes every time you have to wait at the traffic lights. It was built in 1910 according to plans by the Minden architect August Kelpe. It served as a representative social center for the “Gesellschaft zur Weserklause” (founded in 1788 by members of Minden’s upper class). The house in a prime location, directly on the Schwanenteich, has been used for gastronomy for a long time and is still used today. The legendary cinema “Cinema am Schwan” was also here for decades.
