The stately parsonage of Kalken was built in 1845-1846 according to the plans of the Dendermonde architect Johan Beeckman. The old seventeenth-century parsonage was demolished for this purpose. The eye-catcher of the new presbytery is the still existing Art Deco panel door with floral and geometric motifs. Behind the house is a spacious walled garden. The former front garden, enclosed by iron fencing between square masonry pillars, disappeared in 1962.

There is a café in the parsonage. The garden is usually freely accessible and is also used for municipal events.
