The following background:
On October 19, 1944, 2 American military aircraft coming from Kaiserslautern made a loop in the sky in the southern Palatinate - and were then supposed to attack industrial targets in Mainz. But that didn't happen: near the Forsthaus Heldenstein both planes collided and crashed at this point.
