This building here in Dossenbach seems to have had both under one roof, and it is still recognizable as such. The "obligatory" siren is also on the roof.
I don't understand that this simple and efficient warning system was not generally retained, but ...
Sadness? The passage of time? Nostalgia? Progress ? “Nothing is as constant as change”?
Anyway ... some kind of contemporary witness.
