The Spit is a spit of land built for industry in the 1970s. However, in recent years it is used more for sporting activities such as kite surfing. Although the launching platform will be preserved in the future, there is a project to deconstruct it to restore a more natural state. As long as the headland still exists as it does now, it is worth a trip if only to observe the numerous water birds around it.
