In January 1925 the suggestion was given to build a “German mountain, racing and test road” in the Eifel and in June 1927 the “Nürburg-Ring” was opened used to extract the building material, were located in the immediate vicinity of Rennstrasse. During the construction period, a total of 184,693 cbm of rock and 152,907 cbm of earth were moved.
