Embark on the "From Serino to the plateau of Monte Terminio – loop tour," a challenging road cycling adventure that takes you through the diverse landscapes of Italy's Campania region. This route covers 33.9 miles (54.6 km) with a significant elevation gain of 4416 feet (1346 metres), typically completed in about 3 hours and 19 minutes. You will cycle through wooded mountains, lush greenery, and extensive chestnut and beech groves, crossing rivers like the Sabato. A highlight is the "Ripe della Falconara," a natural balcony offering expansive views of the Serino valley and, on clear days, the Tyrrhenian Sea, before you reach the spectacular natural scenery of the Monte Terminio plateau.

This is a difficult road ride, requiring very good fitness due to its substantial climbs. The ascent to Monte Terminio from Serino alone spans 18.8 km, with an 826-meter vertical climb and an average gradient of 4.4%, featuring numerous curves and switchbacks. While most surfaces are well-paved, be aware that some segments in the broader Serino area might be unpaved and more difficult. Exercise caution, especially near Campo Laspierto, where the asphalt ends, as conditions can be slippery from animal droppings and falling rocks.

The route borders the Monti Picentini and Partenio Regional Parks, showcasing the region's rich natural environment. A unique feature you will encounter is the "Terminio Corkscrew." The tour culminates at Campo Laspierto, the highest paved point, where you can admire a centuries-old monumental beech tree. This area also serves as a starting point for horse riding and trekking excursions into the surrounding woods and mountains, offering further exploration opportunities beyond your ride.
