Here, a striking structure of the Aartalbahn once led over the Aar and today's B54 – directly into the Michelbach Tunnel. For decades, trains ran here on their way from Wiesbaden to Diez, past castles, spa towns, and deep forests.
Today, the bridge is missing – demolished and disappeared from the landscape. Only trained eyes can still see where the track ran and how it spanned the tunnel.
A loss for railway nostalgics and a silent reminder of how quickly history disappears if no one preserves it.
