The building permit for the new church was granted on August 3, 1950; the groundbreaking ceremony for this branch church, planned by the architect Franz Günthner, architect from Regensburg, was carried out on August 14, 1950. The foundation stone was laid on October 8, 1950, and the shell was largely completed in 1950. The mighty tower was built in 1951. On June 22, 1952, the church was consecrated by Archbishop Michael Buchberger.
