The historic center of Otranto is an ancient village overlooking the Adriatic Sea, rich in history, art and culture, and which preserves testimonies of different eras and dominations. It can be visited by entering from the Porta Alfonsina, a fortified gate with two circular towers, and among the main attractions there are the Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata, the church of San Pietro, the Aragonese Castle, Piazza del Popolo and the Porta a Mare, which offers a nice view of the harbour. It's worth taking the time for a nice walk.
