Pontives is located at the intersection of the roads leading to Val Gardena, Ponte Gardena and Laion / Chiusa, here the valley narrows to reopen a little further east directly onto the Ladin world. Pontives can be considered the bridge with Ladin culture, tradition and language. This small town is located at 1100 m a.s.l. just 2.5 km from Ortisei.
