In 1672/73, Gallus Mayr, father of the builder of the parish church, erected the "Market Church of the Holy Trinity" with the help of a few Grafingen citizens. The major benefactors were the mayors Georg Zunhammer and Georg Grandauer as well as the Grandauer family of brewers.
The market church had to be renovated as early as 1725, as an inferior foundation and rising damp in the walls severely impaired the statics.
