The Filatoio Rosso of Caraglio is the oldest silk factory in Europe. Inside there are the Museum and the Porta di Valle della Valle Grana, or rather the tourist office. It often hosts temporary exhibitions of great cultural and artistic interest.

Every cultural asset tells a story that deserves to be known.
This is particularly true in the case of the Filatoio di Caraglio, not only because it is a seventeenth-century building with notable architectural value or because it is a rare example of industrial archaeology.
Today it is the oldest silk manufacturing complex in Europe to combine both reeling and twisting operations, an important Piedmontese innovation that allowed for greater quality of the organza. This setting will be the precursor of the "factory system".
