On the top there is a small church, dedicated to the Madonna del Monte della Stella, dating back to 1000 and restored in 1993. Monte Stella (Cilento) is the symbolic center of the birth of Cilento, in fact the area close to the mountain is called "Cilento. ancient "to distinguish it from the entire national park.

Monte della Stella is a massif that rises in the Cilento National Park and its conical peak, in the South, (1131 s.l.m.), was flattened to build the large radar sphere, lowering the altitude of the mountain.

Immersed in the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, it is worth a visit if only for the immense panorama that can be enjoyed once at the top.
The only discordant note is the huge white sphere at its top which houses a LORAN base which is used as a radar base by ENAV for air traffic control in the Eastern sectors of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea and the Southern Tyrrhenian Sea. The radar in question is recognizable by the radome, the large white protective dome placed on top, visible throughout the district.
