The Corps de garde are a number of guardhouses in the town Gravelines, which belongs to the Northern Department. There are a number of these guardhouses on the fortifications of Gravelines, at entrances that must be guarded, but also to support soldiers who had to keep watch. It concerns a number of square houses of yellow bricks and covered with slates. They usually have a gallery to protect the soldier on duty. Most were built in 1771-1774.

Built in 1774, the guard posts protected the fortifications at the most strategic corners. This one monitored the army barracks of Varennes.
