Authentic town with nice boutiques and good restaurants
The elegant, lively town of Salò is sheltered in a narrow bay on the south-west of Lake Garda. Behind the very long, magnificent waterfront promenade stretches the old town with a narrow pedestrian zone and many small boutiques of well-known Italian designers. Excellent fish specialties are served in numerous cozy restaurants.
The town of 10,000 inhabitants has always been very wealthy and was first chosen by the Visconti from Milan and later by the Venetians as the administrative seat of the west bank.
