In the forebay of Nieder-Werbe, a small church tower rises out of the water. This faithful replica from 1914 is intended to remind us that Nieder-Werbe had to be relocated from its original site at the beginning of the construction of the Edersee dam. Just like many other buildings, the small village church was demolished at the time.

The lower part of the village of Nieder-Werbe has sunk into the pre-dam reservoir. On the spot where the old village church stood, a reconstruction of the church tower was erected on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the flooding. There are several information boards on the shore about the church and its surroundings with short texts and historical photographs.
Today's village church of Nieder-Werbe was built in 1915 in Oberdorf.
