Road cycling

Road cycling around Bad Schönau is really awesome. Great, but quite demanding topography, and little busy side roads. From here you can make it to Lake Neusiedl or Semmering or Schneeberg. With a bit of luck, you will also meet top bike pro Hermann Pernsteiner in the Bucklige Welt. Comes from the area. ... and a great beer (Schwarzbräu) is also brewed nearby. And ice cream is there anyway (Eisgreissler).

Hiking

The old parish church was built around 1120 and surrounded with defensive walls. Inside there are frescoes from 1320, which were only partially uncovered in 1987, on the outer facade there is a Christophorus fresco and a plaque commemorating the invasion of Kuruc in 1708.
