Castle Ten Dale - Schelderodeplein
Artist Florimond Van de Poele built this neo-Gothic medieval-inspired castle in 1864-1865, using natural stone and Scheldesteen that would have been baked in Schelderode itself. It stands approximately on the same site as the former "Hof ten Dale", the residence of the lords of Rode. Surrounding the current castle is a landscape-style park and a brick wall. The castle was popularly known as Plissart Castle, because in 1912 the Plissart de Brandignies family came to live here. They descended directly from the former Marquises of Rode.
Unfortunately, the castle and domain are not accessible.
