Hiking

The narrow-gauge railway from Wawer to Karczew via Falenica, Józefów, Świder and Otwock was launched in 1914. The bridge dates from 1912. The train transported holidaymakers from Warsaw to boarding houses located in these towns. During the occupation, additionally, or perhaps above all, food smugglers from Karczew (supposedly called Prosiaków at the time) traveled along it with food smugglers for Warsaw. Finally, the railway stopped running in 1963. Here and there, you can still see the remains of the embankment, the station buildings serve residential purposes, and the bridge is basically used only for pedestrian traffic.

The narrow-gauge railway bridge over the Świder River in Otwock was built in 1912. It was part of the Jabłonowska Commuter Railway line. It is currently a historic structure that will be modernized and transformed into a pedestrian and bicycle path.
