Ushguli is one of the highest permanently inhabited settlements in geographic Europe. Consisting of four villages, it extends at the foot of the highest peak in Georgia and with its medieval towers is a UNESCO heritage site.

Ushguli is a true gem of Georgia, located at the end of the world and certainly of Europe! This complex of several small settlements is considered the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe. Although it is actually in the Caucasus, i.e. on the border between Europe and Asia! Thanks to its unique character and the accumulation of unusual Gothic towers, Ushguli has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996.

Cross the bridge to get to the part of the village from where you can also go to the ruins on the lookout top. The narrow streets are an experience in themselves and you often meet locals with ox carts, goats, chickens or pigs.
