The first four border roses were made in May 2013 by four trainees from the Badische Stahlwerke.
First the outlines were burned out with a jet of fire at about 1500 degrees, then Hakki Cayli, Denis Bub, Nils Krechtling and Arman Vakili got down to work and spent hours filing in order to "fine-tune" "their" flower sculpture. Then the last step followed: Each of the four guys aligned "his" positive and negative form at an exact 90 degree angle and welded the two parts together with pinpoint accuracy.
