In 1726, lady Anna Maria von Boeymer of Rimburg Castle started building a chapel in honor of the Holy Trinity. It was a simple rectangular chapel with an apse and a small bell tower. After the French Revolution, the Dutch municipality of Rimburg looked after the interests of the chapel. The current tower with side portals was added in 1901. In 1937 the nave was enlarged by extending it with two transepts. The last restoration dates from 1995.

Hiking

The church is located at Brugstraat no. 1, near the intersection with Kapelweien. A few tens of meters southeast of the church flows the river Worm, which also forms the national border with Germany. Approximately 100 m south of the church, on the Worm, lies the Rimburgermolen (Rimburg mill) with the Kasteel Rimburg (Rimburg Castle) in its vicinity. The mill is located in the Netherlands; the castle in Germany. Opposite the church, on Brugstraat, is the former rectory from 1826. West of the church is the cemetery. On the east side, there is a small parking lot.
