I tried to follow the ascent route to Erice which starts from here but in August it seems too wild and demanding. The initial path maybe in 1800 was practicable. The starting point is only good if you want to make an alpine climb of the rock ridge. Maybe it's marked wrong. I opted to follow the nature trail a few kilometers further on.

At the parking lot, it's better to take a switchback up to the "Erice Parcheggio Panoramico." The circular trail starts there. (The previous section isn't really a trail.)
