The Fort of Fenestrelle, built in 1727, is the largest Alpine fortress in Europe. Built to defend the Chisone valley, it extends for over 3 km, with a unique architecture. Despite a period of abandonment after the Second World War, the Progetto San Carlo Association has restored and enhanced the fort, making it an important historical site.
