This DNT cabin is located in the lower part of the Middalen valley, right by the river—which also serves as a water source for hikers. Situated on the edge of the Hardangervidda plateau, it acts as a "gateway" for many, often serving as their first experience staying in such a cabin. As is typical for these types of mountain huts, everything you need for an overnight stay is provided.
