Hiking
The Calvary in the shadow of St. Servaas Church in the center of Herselt was restored to its former glory in 2023 after four years of restoration. For the restoration, the churchwardenship commissioned Luc Vanhoof as the sculptor-restorer. The monument was created in 1912 by the firm of Frans Janssens from Westmeerbeek to adorn the newly created cemetery of St. Servaas Church.

The Calvary on the former cemetery of Herselt was realized in 1914 by the firm Janssens from Westmeerbeek. This firm was specialized in constructions in concrete rustic, in which they mimic rock formations and monuments with bricks and concrete.
She was well known and realized Lourdes caves and religious monuments all over Belgium and far beyond. The centerpiece of the large calvary group from 1914 still remains, which will be restored from spring 2020 on behalf of the Sint-Servatius Herselt church factory.
