The Schwabinger Bach is an artificially created tributary of the Isar River and flows through the English Garden. It was created in 1789 as part of the park's design under the direction of Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell and is part of the overall romantic landscape concept. The stream begins at the Oberföhring Isar Canal and meanders idyllically through the southern part of the park, past lawns, old trees, and small bridges.
