This small pond has a reason for its name. In 1913, a landslide occurred at this location, and the resulting hole filled with water. The sinkhole lake is located in a stunning landscape.

Hiking

It happened in the early evening of April 14, 1913, between 6 and 7 p.m. The earth didn't rumble, and there was no sign of the impending natural disaster. Only a little water seeped out in some places on the surrounding farms and near the sinkhole. According to contemporary witnesses, a young boy rowing around the "Little Holy Sea" in his boat observed the bubbling lake. (Heimatverein Recke e.V.)
