A chapel was built here in 1478 - probably next to an old fortified tower.
In 1657 this chapel was enlarged.
1878/79 Construction of the current church by the architect Klemens Steiner, Schwyz.
All the altars are made of Alsatian stone. The heart of Jesus is depicted above the main altar. (The festival of the divine heart of Jesus is here the patronage festival.)
