The 18th-century Catholic parish church of St. Michael stands in Frei-Weinheim. The church building is a Baroque hall structure dating from 1762. It was built on the foundations of the St. Nicholas Chapel from 1333, after the latter burned down during the Thirty Years' War.
In 1928, the church added a square bell tower, crowned by a slate roof dome. For centuries, the church served as a branch church of St. Remigius in Nieder-Ingelheim.
