From 1687, the stately home served as a rectory.
Fate struck on December 28, 1944. The Wolffaertshof was hit by a V-bomb. The building was so badly damaged that it had to be demolished in 1950.
Since the building was classified as a monument, it was rebuilt with the old stones and according to the original plans.
The reconstruction was finished in 1952 and from then on it was reopened as a town hall.
