Directly behind it, the wooden-concrete walls of a former (?) shooting range loom martially, with high earth walls providing the necessary security at the back.
Bizarre sight.
Bright birch groves, evergreen pines and warm yellow grass areas provide an idyllic counterpoint; The military loses its terror in nature and even becomes a framework for glimpses into it.
