The church was inaugurated in 2008. A high bell tower was deliberately avoided in order to preserve the old church's distinctive image in the town centre.
Inside, two light wells, sgn. "Light cannons" for pleasant lighting. The chancel made of exposed concrete takes some getting used to. As a contrast, you should definitely visit the old village church of St. Nicholas, which still has a Gothic chancel with a painted vaulted ceiling.
