The octagonal tower known as the "Schlossturm" has been a well-known landmark of the city for years. What is almost unique about it is that a spiral staircase in the hollow core of the tower again winds upwards with an almost stepless road for the transport of goods. (net find)

The Bayreuth Castle Church in the building ensemble of the Old Castle in Bayreuth is a hall church in the Bayreuth Rococo style. It was built from 1753 to 1758 on behalf of the margrave couple Wilhelmine and Friedrich III. Built as a Lutheran castle and grave church. The plans come from court architect Joseph Saint-Pierre, the artistic ceiling stucco work from Giovanni Battista Pedrozzi. Since 1813, the castle church has been a Catholic parish church with the patronage of Our Lady
