The Eichbaumsee, a former quarry pond, has unfortunately not been a bathing lake for some time, but serves as a recreation area with barbecues and chilling out in summer

On the north-eastern shore of the Eichbaumsee there are large swimming areas with a sandy beach. Unfortunately, swimming has been banned here for several years. Because unfortunately the lake is infested with the harmful blue-green algae. Despite some renovation measures taken by the city, the popular bathing lake has not yet been reopened for swimming.
But on hot summer days you don't have to do without cooling off. Because swimming is allowed in the Dove Elbe. The 18 kilometer long tributary of the Elbe meanders idyllically through the Vier- und Marschlande.

Water always attracts you, especially in the evening when the sun shines nice and warm over the lake.
