The sculpture “Die Tauzieher” (The Tug-of-War) on the Marienkirchturm in Wismar was created by the sculptor Prof. Karl-Henning Seemann, born in Wismar, in the years 1985/87. This plastic offers viewers a lot of scope for their own interpretations. It symbolizes the common struggle for the best solution. As the artist himself noted: "All pull together. If one lets go, the other falls on their nose." The sculpture has stood in front of the St. Marien church tower since 2005 and is an expression of movement and strength.
