Presumably built at the time of Emperor Barbarossa in the second half of the 12th century. The knowledge was secured by an old stone which today was inserted into the wall at a height of approx. 3 m on the stone side. This piece of evidence ensures that before the first mention of a pastor in Horrweiler in 1396 there was a church on the church square
